汐止的新山夢湖為黃花狸藻的原生地，海拔高度約325公尺，此地環境優美，空氣新鮮，在冬季的午後四周常會起霧，有如夢境一般，因此以夢湖為名。新山夢湖的湖水為弱酸（pH在6左右）和貧養的水質，水溫約22～29℃，無強烈的波動，加上強烈的陽光以及有部分斑駁遮陰的環境，非常適合黃花狸藻生長。此地的黃花狸藻生長在水面至水深1公尺處，春夏枯水期分布在稍淺的沿岸地區，在秋冬滿水期則集中在湖中央生長，此時期植株下沉，且多已結實。隨時撈起湖中的黃花狸藻均可見許多捕蟲囊，其顏色常為深黑色。

The Xizhi New Mountain Dream Lake is the native habitat of the yellow-flowered pondweed, with an elevation of about 325 meters. The air here is fresh, and in the winter afternoons, fog often forms around the area, creating a dreamy atmosphere, which is why it is named Dream Lake. The lake water is slightly acidic (with a pH around 6) and nutrient-poor, with a temperature ranging from 22°C to 29°C, without significant fluctuations. The strong sunlight, along with some patchy shade, creates an environment that is very suitable for the growth of yellow-flowered pondweed.
